Charles leads the team in propagating the story of community development and Africa’s transformation through the lens of 1 Billion Africa to the rest of the world through digital media and other platforms. He strongly believes the success story of Africa should not be left untold.
Before his stint at 1BA, he was a local blogger and writer for Bartelsmann Foundation’s Future Challenges where he wrote on public policy, human rights issues, and technology in Africa with Ghana as a focal point. Previously, Charles was also a writer for Konnect Africa where he assisted with the coordinating of the maiden edition of “I Know An African Star” writing competition in Ghana. He is also a contributing writer for Rural Reporters. In 2013, he was nominated for the first Blogging and Social Media Awards by Blogging Ghana for the “Best Business & Commerce Category”. He has worked as an Editorial Assistant for Focus Digital, an advertising and multimedia agency and publishers of HR Focus magazine in Ghana. In 2015, Charles was a delegate from Ghana for the Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany as they discussed the influence of digital media on foreign policy.
As part of championing community development, he organized a TEDx event dubbed, TEDxAfariwaa to create a platform for some of the country’s young and sharpest thinkers and doers to inspire change and development.
He is an alumnus of the University of Ghana and has a deep passion for Africa’s development at the grassroots level.
