Empowering students to think different. To think solutions!

In our maiden project for the year 2016, 1 Billion Africa is looking forward to impacting more students in the next edition of the “Go Empower Schools” project through series of innovative activities and donation in the form of stationery. The major objectives of this project are to increase access to quality education by the basic school students in remote areas, empower students through innovative activities and mentoring.

1 Billion Africa identifies problems in deprived communities in Africa and turn them into projects to help alleviate poverty and to empower the youth and children to create leaders. It is in this light that 1BA created “Go Empower” schools project, an initiative which seeks to empower basic school students through donation of stationery and empowerment through innovative educational activities in the quest to improve on the quality of education and accessibility.

why go empower

Last year saw an increment in enrolment in the school as a result of the books and some learning materials the students received. As a way of promoting quality education through the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, we have decided to target three schools in 2 regions in Ghana which represents 520 students in the Kotobabi Presby School, Kuntunse L/A and Akyeremanteng M/A schools.

The vision of the project is to embark on the project in all ten (10) regions in Ghana and improve upon the quality of education in those areas and other African countries.
